en.Wedoany.com Reported - Germany's Liebherr has launched the LMD 1200 mining dragline, specifically developed for dragline applications in both wet and dry mining operations. The equipment has a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tons, a working radius of 40 meters, and can be equipped with a dragline bucket capacity of up to 12.25 cubic meters, with a digging depth of up to 25 meters. The boom system can be flexibly configured according to operating conditions, and its robust steel structure design ensures reliability and high availability even under extreme weather and high utilization rates.
The drive system utilizes Liebherr's dual hydraulic motors, which automatically adjust hoist speed to match digging force, ensuring uniform bucket filling and significantly enhancing processing capacity. Combined with a powerful slewing mechanism, the working cycle time is reduced, further improving productivity.
The fairlead consists of a rotating roller assembly equipped with rope sheaves and guide rollers, including bearings and an automatic positioning unit, enabling reduced wear on the rope winding onto the drum. Large rope diameters and standard rope grooves extend rope service life, while a new rope lock supports quick replacement, reducing downtime.
In terms of mobility, the LMD 1200 can be relocated within the mine site by lowering the boom. The total machine weight is approximately 360 tons, and it can be assembled or disassembled within a week. The optimized hydraulic drive system combines engine power with reduced hydraulic pressure for efficient operation, balancing low fuel consumption with high processing capacity. An integrated 1,000-liter oil tank and an additional 8,270-liter tank allow continuous operation for a week without refueling. A high proportion of core components are Liebherr's own developed parts, improving spare parts availability and operational readiness.
The cab prioritizes operator comfort with noise-reducing design and wide visibility, equipped with cameras for comprehensive safety observation and monitoring of hoist rope winding. Tinted safety glass provides sun protection, and the air conditioning system ensures a comfortable working climate. The operator's seat can be heated, cooled, or ventilated as needed, while a co-pilot seat is available for training new personnel. The boom, cab, and walkways are equipped with lighting systems to ensure visibility during night operations.
Liebherr application engineers provide global training for LMD 1200 operations to optimize on-site productivity. The model was launched during the 50th anniversary celebration of Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH in June 2026 and is now available on the market.
