Jandt adds Liebherr 400-tonne mobile crane

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 31, Liebherr announced that German crane rental company Jandt Kranvermietung GmbH has added an LTM 1400-6.1 mobile crane to its fleet. This is Jandt's first six-axle mobile crane and its first entry into the 400-tonne mobile crane segment, making it the largest-capacity crane in the company's fleet to date.

Prior to acquiring the LTM 1400-6.1, Jandt's fleet of large equipment mainly comprised two LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes and two MK 140-5.1 mobile construction cranes. Jandt stated that some heavy lifting projects had previously exceeded the capacity of its own equipment, requiring the mobilization of large-tonnage cranes from partner companies. With the new crane in service, the company will now handle certain heavy lifting tasks in-house that previously required external equipment, with applications spanning industrial facilities, infrastructure, energy projects, and overhead power line construction.

The LTM 1400-6.1 features a six-axle chassis and a 70-meter telescopic boom. According to Liebherr's product specifications, the crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 450 tonnes at a working radius of 3 meters; a maximum hook height of 120 meters and a maximum working radius of 97 meters, with an optional 80.5-meter luffing jib and a total counterweight of 140 tonnes. The crane is powered by a 455 kW eight-cylinder diesel engine, with a standard drive/steering configuration of 12×6×12.

This model is equipped with a Y-guying system, and Jandt's selection focused on the compact dimensions, lifting performance, and setup time in the large-tonnage class. The Y-guying system can be self-assembled and features the LIKUFIX automatic quick-connection system to reduce on-site assembly steps. The crane also utilizes the VarioBallast variable counterweight system, allowing the working radius of the 140-tonne counterweight to be adjusted between 5.6 meters and 7.7 meters; the VarioBase variable outrigger system permits individual outrigger extension lengths to be adjusted according to site conditions.

The crane's first assignment after delivery was in Bad Laer, Germany, where it was used to lift a transformer substation weighing approximately 60 tonnes. Jandt's current fleet comprises 18 mobile cranes, 4 truck-mounted cranes, and 4 Liebherr mobile construction cranes, the latter including two MK 140-5.1 and two MK 88-4.1 units.
