World's First 250,000 Ton-Meter Ring Rail Crane Rolls Off Production Line

(CEEC Guangdong Power Engineering) and Lifting Engineering Co., Ltd., was officially rolled off the production line at the Huzhou Industrial Park in Zhejiang Province. This equipment successfully solved the lifting challenge of the "one machine, two islands" construction method for Hualong One 2.0, while also marking a key domestic breakthrough in China's ultra-large-tonnage nuclear power lifting equipment, breaking the foreign technology monopoly.

Nuclear power construction is a key deployment for safeguarding national energy security. With the implementation of the innovative "one machine, two islands" construction method for Hualong One 2.0, the industry urgently needs heavy equipment capable of completing the lifting of all modules for two nuclear islands using only a single device. However, such equipment imposes extremely high requirements on working radius, load capacity, and lifting precision, and the technology for this class of high-end equipment has long been mastered only by a few overseas companies. After seven years of intensive research, the SANY R&D team overcame multiple technical barriers and successfully developed the world's first 250,000 ton-meter ring rail crane.

This 250,000 ton-meter ring rail crane combines three outstanding advantages: robust performance, efficient operation, and intelligent safety. The equipment features an ultra-long boom combination of 137 meters plus 66 meters, delivering approximately 50% higher lifting capacity under large-radius nuclear power working conditions compared to foreign equipment of the same class, and meeting lifting requirements with just a single position and a single working condition. The entire machine adopts an all-electric drive mode, achieving zero emissions and low noise throughout operation. The application of this equipment in construction is expected to shorten nuclear power project construction periods by 15%, with operating costs only one-quarter of traditional fuel-powered equipment, and site and logistics costs reduced by 20% and 30%, respectively. On the safety front, the equipment is equipped with digital systems including intelligent anti-collision, 360° surround view, remote fault diagnosis, rope tangle detection, facial recognition, and operation behavior recognition, employing a full suite of digital protection measures to minimize on-site operational risks to the greatest extent.
