Emirates Launches New Global Lounge Design with AED 50 Million Investment
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Emirates has unveiled its new generation of airport lounge designs, as the airline plans to roll out a redefined premium travel experience across its global network. The new concept has already been implemented at Emirates lounges in Munich and Frankfurt, and will be extended to Manchester, Mauritius, and Istanbul in the coming months.
Emirates is investing over AED 50 million (Dh50 million) per new-generation lounge to upgrade facilities at major international destinations. The redesign incorporates elements from the airline's latest aircraft cabin interiors into airport spaces, featuring updated furniture, technology equipment, dining areas, locally inspired menus, and dedicated zones for work, relaxation, and socializing. The company stated that the new lounge design will serve as the benchmark for future Emirates lounges worldwide.
Adel Al Redha, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer, said the investment reflects the airline's ongoing commitment to enhancing the customer experience. He noted that the new-generation lounge concept is designed to blend luxurious interiors with Emirates' high standards of hospitality and innovation.
The redesigned lounges include over 50 design enhancements, with separate areas for passengers to work, dine, relax, or socialize before boarding. Interiors feature herringbone flooring, marble and gold accents, integrated lighting, and the Ghaf tree motif of the UAE. Business travelers can access more private workspaces, wireless charging facilities, and power outlets at every seat. The lounges also feature dedicated art walls showcasing local artists and Emirati culture. The airline's iconic Rolex clocks remain in the lounges, displaying global time zones.
The dining area in the new lounges is centered around a "culinary theatre" concept, with live cooking stations offering made-to-order dishes. The menu includes international cuisine and regional specialties, along with a dedicated "Made In" area showcasing local food products. The lounges are equipped with bread ovens for producing items such as pizzas, flatbreads, and Dubai-inspired manakeesh. A new barista concept offers specialty coffee and artisan teas, while dedicated mixologists serve locally inspired cocktails and mocktails, alongside the airline's existing selection of wines, champagne, beer, and spirits.
Emirates currently operates 42 dedicated airport lounges worldwide, including eight lounges at Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3 and 34 lounges at international airports across its network. The lounges are accessible to First Class and Business Class passengers, Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members, including those traveling in Premium Economy and Economy Class, with paid entry options also available. At Dubai International Airport, Emirates operates three First Class lounges and five Business Class lounges in Terminal 3.
