This 87-meter, 160-tonne bridge, manufactured using UK steel at Britons Ltd in Heanor, is the first new bridge built over the River Trent since the 1950s. This walking and cycling route will connect communities on both sides of the river, from Victoria Embankment to Colwick Park, improving safe access to homes, leisure, employment, and sports venues—including Nottingham Forest and Notts County football grounds, as well as Trent Bridge cricket ground.

Pick Everard operates through Perfect Circle and is appointed under the SCAPE Consultancy framework. The company is collaborating with Nottingham City Council, main contractor Balfour Beatty, and other key partners including Ramboll, Britons, the Canal and River Trust, the Environment Agency, Pedals, Blueprint, Geldards, Active Travel England, and funder the Department for Transport. This bridge is the final project under the council's £160 million Transforming Cities Fund programme, which encourages sustainable travel and inter-city connectivity.
