en.Wedoany.com Reported - The former BASF coatings business is now operating independently under its new name, Surventis, retaining its original brands and the recently announced senior leadership team. The spin-off was completed concurrently with the acquisition by Carlyle.

The company, formerly BASF's coatings business, is majority-owned by funds managed by Carlyle, together with the Qatar Investment Authority, while BASF retains a 40% stake in Surventis. Surventis provides coatings and surface treatment technologies to automotive original equipment manufacturers, refinish, and industrial customers, with a product portfolio including brands such as Chemetall®, Glasurit®, and R-M®. The company reported sales of approximately €3.9 billion in 2025, employs around 10,700 people, and serves over 42,000 customers in more than 140 countries through a network of over 30 production and development sites. Its headquarters are located in Germany, Münster.
Jens Luehring will serve as Chief Executive Officer of Surventis, Michael Pontzen as Chief Financial Officer, and Ewout van Jarwaarde as Chief Transformation Officer. The Executive Committee also includes Nils Lessmann, Executive Vice President of Operations for Mobility and Refinish, as well as the heads of the company's surface treatment, mobility coatings, and refinish businesses. Surventis stated that its products, technologies, brands, and technical teams will remain unchanged as the company begins its independent operations.
