en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 7, India's Farmson Basic Drugs Private Limited proposed expanding its Unit IV synthetic organic chemicals manufacturing facility at the GIDC Nandesari Industrial Estate in the Vadodara district of Gujarat. The project has entered the expansion filing stage and will be implemented at the company's existing Plot No. 105 production site.

Unit IV is Farmson's existing multi-product API manufacturing and R&D base, equipped with multi-purpose chemical reaction and analytical R&D facilities. According to official Farmson information, the company operates multiple API production units and an analytical R&D center at Unit IV. The R&D facility is equipped with 20–250 liter stainless steel and glass reactors, 25-liter autoclaves, vacuum tray dryers, hot air ovens, fluidized bed dryers, as well as analytical instruments including HPLC, UPLC, GC, and FTIR, supporting scale-up from laboratory synthesis to kilogram-level processing.

Farmson currently operates six production units in Gujarat. Among them, Unit I has a paracetamol production capacity of 28,000 MT/year, Unit II is equipped with an API capacity of 24,000 MT/year and a direct compression grade product capacity of 3,600 MT/year, Unit III has a p-aminophenol production capacity of 45,000 MT/year, and Unit VI has an acetic anhydride capacity of 43,200 MT/year. Units IV and V handle the company's new API products and multi-purpose chemical operations.

The company's existing value chain covers products such as p-aminophenol, acetic anhydride, paracetamol, and caffeine, among which p-aminophenol and acetic anhydride are key upstream raw materials for its core API production. Farmson currently supplies products to over 400 customers across more than 65 countries and continues to expand into new APIs beyond paracetamol. This Unit IV expansion will directly leverage the existing Nandesari chemical park infrastructure and the company's multi-API R&D system.
