en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Solvay announced an expansion plan for electronic-grade hydrogen peroxide at its Tainan plant in Taiwan, China, aiming to increase annual capacity from the current 35,000 tons to over 70,000 tons through its joint venture, Shinchem Advanced Chemical, with completion targeted by the end of 2026. The expanded output is intended for local semiconductor manufacturers, supplying the wafer cleaning process.

Shinchem Advanced Chemical was jointly established by Solvay and Shinkong Synthetic Fibers, with Solvay holding a 51% stake, responsible for the development, production, and sales of electronic-grade hydrogen peroxide. The plant is located in the Annan District of Tainan City, covering approximately 2.4 hectares. The existing facility held its inauguration ceremony in September 2023, with an announced annual capacity of 35,000 tons at that time, primarily producing Grade 5 electronic-grade high-purity hydrogen peroxide.

Solvay stated that the high-purity products manufactured at the Tainan plant have passed certification by local customers, with performance, quality standards, and product consistency aligned with similar products supplied by the group's global production network. Carlos Silveira, President of Solvay's Peroxides business, stated that the newly added capacity is expected to meet newly emerging demand in Taiwan.

Beyond this round of capacity expansion, Solvay is advancing approval for the next phase of expansion in collaboration with its joint venture partners and customers.
