India's Devson Secures Ammonia Decomposition Catalyst Orders from NMDC and Tata Steel in 2026

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 4, Devson Catalyst Limited announced that its self-developed ammonia decomposition catalyst has secured commercial orders from NMDC and Tata Steel, with both orders placed after customers completed evaluation and approval. Among these, Tata Steel's purchase marks its first order of this product from Devson Catalyst; NMDC had previously placed its initial order in May 2026 and has already completed practical application.

The catalyst was developed by Devson Catalyst leveraging in-house R&D and technical capabilities, and is used for ammonia decomposition processes under high-temperature conditions. The company disclosed that the product can be applied to ammonia cracking in hydrogen production scenarios, as well as ammonia removal in industrial process gases. Existing application scopes include steel metallurgy, industrial gases, refining, and hydrogen energy-related processes.

NMDC first purchased the product in May 2026, and Devson Catalyst subsequently confirmed that the catalyst has been successfully used at the customer's site. Tata Steel placed its initial order after completing product evaluation. The company lists the ammonia decomposition catalyst as a higher-value product within its existing catalyst portfolio.

Devson Catalyst has not yet disclosed the contract value, purchase quantities, catalyst loading volumes, delivery locations, delivery lead times, plant capacities, or specific application sections for the orders from NMDC and Tata Steel. The information submitted to the capital market on September 4 only confirms that the new product has completed R&D, NMDC has completed application, and Tata Steel has made its first purchase.
