Surventis and AUMOVIO Advance Industrialization of Automotive Optical Films

The relevant products will be supplied through Surventis's Chemetall brand, with a primary focus on in-vehicle displays, projection systems, and head-up displays (HUD), targeting the global automotive market.
The cooperation has defined specific development steps and initial industrialization milestones. Surventis is responsible for the materials, optical design, and manufacturing technology of the microstructured optical films, while AUMOVIO is responsible for automotive display systems, HUD, system integration, and manufacturing processes, and will introduce the relevant film technology into in-vehicle display systems that meet automotive industry standards and OEM requirements. The two parties currently position the cooperation phase as technology development and industrialization advancement, without disclosing commercial production launch dates, production scale, OEM customers, or specific vehicle model programs.
In the manufacturing process, Surventis employs a roll-to-roll nanoimprint process capable of replicating optical micro- and nanostructures across large-area surfaces of continuous films. This manufacturing route is designed for scalable continuous production and can produce functional films for display systems based on different optical structure designs. This cooperation directly links this material and manufacturing capability with AUMOVIO's automotive display and system integration expertise, forming a development chain of "optical structure design—film manufacturing—automotive system integration—industrialization validation."
AUMOVIO's current in-vehicle display technology portfolio includes LCD, MicroLED, privacy display, and 3D display, along with the development and manufacturing capabilities for head-up display systems. Under the cooperation arrangement, AUMOVIO will be responsible for evaluating the integration conditions of microstructured optical films in in-vehicle displays, projection systems, and HUD systems, and will advance subsequent automotive-grade development and manufacturing validation.
Surventis completed its operational independence from BASF's Coatings business in July 2026, with Chemetall continuing to operate as its surface treatment business brand. This automotive optical film cooperation represents a new automotive functional materials development project under Surventis's surface treatment business following its independence, with the product brand and subsequent sales system remaining under Chemetall.
