en.Wedoany.com Reported - Swiss cellulose materials innovator Seprify has expanded its cooperation with the Grolman Group to introduce its cellulose-based white pigment technology into the coatings, paints, and inks industries. The two parties had previously collaborated in the cosmetics sector, and this move marks a significant step toward larger-scale industrial applications of cellulose raw materials.

At the core of this expanded cooperation is "SilvaFolia," a pigment made from cellulose that offers manufacturers an alternative to titanium dioxide (TiO₂) while maintaining key properties such as whiteness and opacity. The technology was developed in response to the growing demand for sustainable materials in industrial formulations, balancing performance with environmental considerations.
Made from renewable cellulose raw materials, the pigment helps manufacturers reduce their reliance on TiO₂. The Grolman Group will leverage its expertise in formulation development, application testing, and customer support to drive the commercialization of this pigment in Europe and Turkey. Florian Grolman, Managing Director of the Grolman Group, stated that the technology combines strong sustainability with good application performance, meeting the increasing demand for innovative solutions in the coatings and inks industries.
This cooperation aligns with Seprify's broader strategy of transforming cellulose into a multifunctional materials platform. Expanding the partnership with the Grolman Group is a logical next step, laying the foundation for renewable pigment technology to be applied in larger-scale industrial settings. The pigment is now available for large-scale commercial trials, and both companies are actively working with manufacturers to evaluate its potential in various coatings, paints, and inks formulations. This collaboration reflects the industry's trend toward sustainable innovation, offering manufacturers new opportunities to enhance performance while meeting environmental requirements.
