en.Wedoany.com Reported - The town hall of Villajoyosa (located in the province of Alicante, Spain) has completed the installation of photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of five municipal buildings for collective self-consumption.
The installation sites include the Municipal Market (Mercat Municipal), the Marta Baldó Sports Hall, the La Torreta Sports Hall, the Doctor Álvaro Esquerdo Primary School (CEIP Doctor Álvaro Esquerdo), and the Secanet Special Education Center (CEE Secanet).

The Doctor Álvaro Esquerdo Primary School installed 178 panels with a capacity of 100 kW; the Municipal Market installed 54 panels with a capacity of 30 kW; the Marta Baldó Sports Hall installed 30 panels with a capacity of 15 kW; the La Torreta Sports Hall installed 112 panels with a capacity of 60 kW; and the Secanet Special Education Center installed 119 panels with a capacity of 60 kW.

These facilities operate under a collective self-consumption model, with surplus electricity fed into the grid and compensated. The generated electricity is shared among the municipal buildings, and the remaining power is fed into the grid, which is then deducted from the electricity bills.

This project is part of the "Sustainable Tourism Destination Plan," under the "Diversification and Sustainable Management of Tourism Supply" axis, funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU fund. The total investment amounts to €289,367.65.
