en.Wedoany.com Reported - Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Zoomlion) showcased five achievements in hybrid and electric propulsion technologies at its 7th Science and Technology Innovation Conference, continuously driving the new energy transformation of construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and mining equipment.

The five technologies recognized at the conference held on June 16 cover a wide range: ultra-high-power hybrid tractors, intelligent control and electric propulsion systems for heavy machinery, distributed electric propulsion systems for mobile cranes, series hybrid and fully electric propulsion systems for combine harvesters, and a set of patents for high-power tractor hybrid power systems. These achievements span the company's major business segments, reflecting Zoomlion's overall technical layout capabilities in the new energy field.

The core supporting these achievements is the company's internal new energy technology development platform. This platform is responsible for architecture design, customized development of key components, and technical collaboration with various equipment divisions. Zoomlion has now formed a new energy product matrix covering construction machinery, mining, and agriculture, with technical routes encompassing pure electric, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cells, while offering both battery swap and plug-in charging replenishment methods. In 2025, the company developed nearly 60 new energy products, with a cumulative total of 240 new energy products on sale. Its capabilities cover the entire chain of vehicles, batteries, motors, controllers, and fuel cell systems, and it possesses in-house R&D and testing capabilities for lithium-ion batteries and hydrogen fuel cells.

New energy agricultural machinery is a typical application of the above technologies. Hybrid powertrain control technology has been used in Zoomlion's tractors and wheat combine harvesters, achieving fuel savings through optimized energy management. Data shows that hybrid wheat combine harvesters reduce fuel consumption by approximately 30%, while hybrid tractors achieve fuel savings of about 8%. In the mining equipment sector, wire-controlled chassis technology has been integrated into autonomous mining trucks. This chassis adopts a three-level braking architecture consisting of retarder braking, electric braking, and mechanical braking, providing a technical foundation for safe braking in large-scale deployments and extreme operating conditions.

Ou Biao, Dean of the Vehicle Control Research Institute at Zoomlion New Energy Technology Company, stated that this recognition is both an affirmation of the R&D team's work and a continuous source of motivation. He noted that developing new energy equipment requires repeated field testing in harsh environments such as mines and farmlands, and the award encourages the team to get closer to actual customer needs and tackle the most complex technical challenges.

Zoomlion stated that it will continue to increase R&D investment in new energy equipment and encourage engineers to engage closely with global customers to better understand the real needs of local markets.
