en.Wedoany.com Reported - Bendalls Engineering has completed the installation of six new overhead cranes at the Rail Hub (Site 3) in Carlisle, Cumbria, marking a key phase in the site's expansion. The installed lifting equipment includes four 10-tonne overhead cranes in Workshop 1 and two 20-tonne overhead cranes in Workshop 2, aimed at bringing the workshops closer to full operational status.

With the latest installation phase complete, electrical contractor RB Electrical Services has commenced work on the site's electrical system. According to the company's project timeline, the new cranes are scheduled for commissioning at the end of July or early August. Bendalls Engineering noted that this crane installation is part of a broader investment plan for the Rail Hub, with future projects including restoring the site's rail connection to enable product transport by rail. The company stated this aligns with its stated goal of supporting "a sustainable future for engineering." RB Electrical Services commented: "This is another great project involving our key client, and we look forward to seeing its development."
Founded in 1894, Bendalls Engineering operates five sites in Kingston, Carlisle, serving industries such as nuclear, defence, and renewable energy.
