Optical interconnect is one of BOE's key strategic directions. The company stated that it will leverage its long-term accumulated technical capabilities in the display industry, glass substrate processing expertise, and advantages in large-scale intelligent manufacturing to advance the development of optical interconnect technology and glass carrier board CPO technology. Currently, the company has established a project team for Micro LED optical interconnect systems and glass carrier board CPO technology, conducting forward-looking technology research with ecosystem partners to accelerate technological breakthroughs.
Regarding glass-based packaging substrates, BOE believes that their commercialization requires industry chain collaboration, involving joint efforts from equipment and material manufacturers as well as customers. Based on customer needs, the company will continue to optimize process technologies, improve product yield rates, and accelerate the industrialization process of products.
BOE's cooperation with Corning is also progressing steadily. The two parties will combine their respective advantages in display, optical materials, and connection technologies to jointly advance projects such as glass-based packaging substrates, optical interconnects, perovskite, and foldable glass. Currently, the cooperation has entered a substantive implementation phase, with multiple projects already launched and progress tracked on a quarterly basis.
BOE also provided updates on its LCD and OLED businesses. In terms of LCD, against the backdrop of the retirement of older production lines, the company will continuously optimize production line efficiency. For OLED, with the mass production of the 8.6-generation AMOLED production line, the company will leverage its scale production capacity and technological advantages to continuously promote the popularization and upgrade of mid-to-high-end OLED products.
Regarding future business layout, BOE stated that it will focus on advancing new businesses such as glass-based packaging substrates, perovskite, and Micro LED optical interconnects. Among these, perovskite will leverage micron-level processing capabilities for industrialization, glass-based packaging substrates will extend toward nanoscale manufacturing capabilities, and Micro LED optical interconnects will fully utilize the advantages of display technology, glass substrate processing, and intelligent manufacturing to continuously advance key technologies and product development.
