en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) led a dialogue to secure 9 million soles in financing for the upgrade of the power system at the Huancayoccassa Substation (Subestación Huancayoccassa), aiming to improve electricity services for residents of the Colcabamba district, Tayacaja province, Huancavelica region. The plan seeks to strengthen power supply and reduce the electricity coverage gap in the area.

This progress was achieved through coordination by the Office of Dialogue and Citizen Participation (OGDPC), under the General Directorate of Social Management (OGGS). The office organized a dialogue session at MINEM headquarters, with representatives from the Colcabamba Rural Community (Comunidad Campesina de Colcabamba) and the concessionaire Electro Centro. Through this dialogue, parties agreed to invest 9 million soles in power system upgrade works, aimed at enhancing the quality and continuity of electricity services in the district.
MINEM explained that this intervention adopted a preventive approach, responding to community needs by promoting dialogue and consultation, strengthening social harmony, and helping maintain the continuous operation of the Mantaro Hydroelectric Plant (Central Hidroeléctrica Mantaro), a key infrastructure for the national power supply.
Meanwhile, a co-financing plan was established: the General Directorate of Rural Electrification (DGER) will contribute 6 million soles, with Electro Centro providing the remaining 3 million soles. On-site construction is scheduled to begin on July 3, 2026, with the project expected to achieve final acceptance by September 26, 2027.
MINEM reaffirmed its commitment to continuing preventive and participatory social management, promoting agreements to build critical infrastructure, narrowing the electricity supply gap, and fostering sustainable development that benefits the population.
