en.Wedoany.com Reported - CMA CGM announced that effective July 15, 2026, it will implement new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for containers shipped from all Asian ports to major destinations in Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa. These rates will generally remain valid until the end of the month. This adjustment aims to manage logistics costs and maintain service stability on the world's busiest trade routes.

The benchmark rate for transport between ports connecting Asia and Northern Europe is set at $4,100 per 20-foot standard container; for 40-foot containers—including standard, High Cube, and reefer containers—the benchmark cost is $7,000. For destinations in the Western Mediterranean, rates are $5,800 (20-foot) and $7,900 (40-foot); for the Adriatic Sea, $6,000 and $8,100; for the Eastern Mediterranean, rising to $6,200 and $8,500; and for the Black Sea region, $5,900 and $8,000, respectively. The highest rates are for North Africa, with small container freight at $7,300 and large containers at $10,400.
CMA CGM clarified that for Northern European routes, rates include basic transport and bunker surcharges; for Mediterranean routes, they additionally include costs related to environmental emission regulations (ETS) and low-sulfur fuel (LSS). However, for all destinations, importers and exporters must also consider additional external charges, such as terminal handling charges (THC), mandatory security fees, and potential local contingency fees at the port of origin or destination.
