Fincantieri and Viking Sign Contract for Two Cruise Ships, Scheduled for Delivery in 2032

These two ships result from Viking's exercise of options announced in April 2025 and will be built at Fincantieri's Ancona shipyard, with both scheduled for delivery in 2032. Fincantieri classified the value of this agreement as "large," and the contract remains subject to financing and other conditions.

The new ships are designed for the small cruise ship segment, with a gross tonnage of approximately 54,300 tons each and 499 staterooms accommodating 998 passengers. The vessels will incorporate the latest environmental, navigation, and safety requirements, building on the design of ships previously constructed by Fincantieri for Viking.

This contract follows closely on the recently announced order for two Viking expedition cruise ships, further advancing the expansion plans of Viking's fleet.

Fincantieri's Chief Executive Officer, Pierroberto Folgiero, stated that the agreement signed today marks another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two companies. He noted that allocating the vessels to the Ancona shipyard ensures long-term production continuity for the yard and its supply chain, while also supporting skilled employment.

The latest contract extends Viking's newbuild program into the next decade, as the operator continues to collaborate with Fincantieri to expand its ocean and expedition fleet.
