en.Wedoany.com Reported - Delta Air Lines has opened a new Delta One lounge at Terminal 2 of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), focusing on providing a more private premium travel experience. The lounge spans approximately 4,000 square feet (372 square meters) and can accommodate 75 guests, distinguishing it from the flagship lounge at Terminal 3, which covers about 10,000 square feet (929 square meters) and features a terrace and wellness area.
The new lounge emphasizes personalized service, adopting concierge-style seating and full table service instead of the traditional self-service format. Dining is a key highlight, offering an à la carte menu including homemade pasta and sushi, with tableside service available at all seats. Floor-to-ceiling windows create an open atmosphere, while local artwork and design elements enhance the sense of place.

This is part of Delta's larger investment plan at LAX. Delta stated that by 2028, it plans to operate four lounge spaces across Terminals 2 and 3, totaling approximately 60,000 square feet (5,574 square meters) with over 1,000 seats. The plan also includes adding an 11,000-square-foot (1,022 square meters) Sky Club at Terminal 2.
Megan Humphreys, Delta's Vice President of Lounge Operations, said the new lounge offers an experience independent of the flagship model, designed to meet premium travel needs. The new space does not replace the existing lounge at Terminal 3 but provides an alternative, focusing on creating a quieter, less crowded environment.

The opening of the new lounge reflects the intensifying competition among airlines in premium passenger services, with airport lounges evolving from mere waiting areas into key extensions of the travel experience. By investing in dining programs, space design, and personalized services, airlines aim to differentiate themselves before passengers even board the plane.
