en.Wedoany.com Reported - Two electric sightseeing vessels have been delivered and put into operation in Russia's Vologda region.
The two new vessels, named "Vologda Dawn" and "Vologda Resident," belong to the Project EM2108 series of open-type electric urban river sightseeing boats, built by the local shipyard Emperium.
These vessels adopt the same design as earlier series boats but have been modified for urban area operations, with a focus on electric propulsion systems. The new boats have a localization rate of approximately 90% and feature a more ergonomic layout.
Each vessel is fully steel-built, with an overall length of 16.5 meters, a beam of 4 meters, and a draft of 0.8 meters. They can carry 40 passengers in addition to two crew members. The low hull design ensures passage under bridges, while the narrow beam and shallow draft facilitate safe navigation through multiple canals.
The electric propulsion system consists of an 80 kW electric motor driven by a battery with a capacity of 560 Ah. This configuration allows the vessels to operate throughout the day at a service speed of 7 knots on a single full charge, with a maximum speed exceeding 8 knots.
The designs of "Vologda Dawn" and "Vologda Resident" meet the requirements of the Russian Classification Society.
