en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dongfang International has signed an EPC contract with UAE-based power developer AMEA Power for the Celeste 150MW/300MWh energy storage project in Uzbekistan. Located in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, this is the first large-scale energy storage power station project in the capital and also the first large-scale independent energy storage EPC project signed by Dongfang International in Central Asia. Ji Chengmeng, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of Dongfang International, and Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, attended the signing ceremony. Before the ceremony, Mr. Al Nowais and his delegation visited the digital and intelligent exhibition hall of Dongfang Electric's Innovation and Overseas Business Center, where both parties held discussions on deepening cooperation in the new energy sector and jointly expanding international markets.

The Celeste energy storage project includes the design, procurement, and construction of the energy storage power station, the step-up substation, and the associated transmission lines. In recent years, Uzbekistan has accelerated its green energy transition, with new energy development reaching a certain scale. The energy storage station can coordinate with photovoltaic and wind power to smooth output fluctuations and enhance power absorption capacity. Once completed, the project will strengthen the safe carrying capacity of Tashkent's power grid and improve the flexible allocation of regional power supply and demand.

The successful signing of this project is the result of Dongfang International actively seizing opportunities in the global green and low-carbon energy transition and rapidly responding to market changes. Dongfang International will leverage the Group's "one core, two wings" industrial advantages to enhance the operational efficiency of Dongfang Electric's Central Asia Regional Business Center, promote the green energy development of Central Asian countries, and inject new momentum into local sustainable development.
Zhou Jie, Deputy General Manager of Dongfang International, and heads of relevant institutions from both parties attended the above activities.
