en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology Co., Ltd. announced at its Guangzhou Nansha headquarters base that its gigawatt-hour-scale all-solid-state battery production line has completed technical renovation and officially commenced production. The project was converted from an existing 4GWh liquid lithium battery production line, achieving flexible switching between traditional liquid lithium battery and all-solid-state battery production through localized specialized process upgrades and process optimization. According to the company, this production line is the industry's first gigawatt-hour-scale solid-state battery production line that adopts the method of technical renovation of an existing production line to produce products conforming to the GB/T 48093.1-2026 national standard classification.

This renovation adopts Greater Bay Technology's self-developed deep eutectic-based composite solid-state electrolyte technology. Leveraging the achievements of previously undertaken national-level solid-state battery R&D and industrialization projects, it involves localized equipment and manufacturing process adjustments to a mature liquid battery production line. The renovation process did not involve large-scale infrastructure construction, nor did it require bulk procurement of specialized high-cost equipment. This technology route adopts an organic-inorganic composite solid-state electrolyte system. The company has disclosed that the battery cell specific energy covers 260–480Wh/kg and features fast-charging capability.

In the product testing phase, Greater Bay Technology's first batch of 35Ah all-solid-state cells has undergone testing by the Testing and Experiment Center of the National Power Battery Innovation Center of China Automotive Battery Research Institute. On September 8, 2026, the cell was subjected to a complete steel needle penetration test in a fully charged state, with the result being no fire and no explosion. The cell also completed a 6-hour continuous baking test at 120°C in a vacuum environment with a breach, with a weight loss rate of less than 0.5%, meeting the relevant determination requirements of GB/T 48093.1-2026 "Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles Part 1: Terminology and Classification." The company also announced that the cell has passed all safety tests applicable to battery cells in GB 38031-2025 "Safety Requirements for Power Batteries for Electric Vehicles."

Greater Bay Technology completed the rollout of its A-sample all-solid-state battery cells in April 2026, and subsequently advanced the upgrade of its Nansha base production line. During the production commencement ceremony on October 13, the company also signed strategic cooperation agreements with Shenzhen Vertical Take-Off and Landing Aircraft Innovation Center Co., Ltd. and Hubei Liming Lithium Industry Technology Co., Ltd., respectively, covering technical development and industrialization applications of all-solid-state batteries in different application scenarios. The company also disclosed that the relevant battery products have entered the testing and validation phase with some passenger vehicle manufacturers.
