en.Wedoany.com Reported - China's Envision Energy plans to build a 250MW wind power project in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, equipped with a battery energy storage system (BESS). The total investment in the project is approximately $215 million, with the advancement arrangements finalized during a meeting between Aktobe Region Governor Ashat Shakharov and representatives of Envision Energy. The wind power project is expected to create about 300 jobs during the construction phase, and the local government has expressed support for its implementation.

"The development of renewable energy is one of the key priorities of Kazakhstan's national policy. For the Aktobe region, this wind power project holds strategic significance, driving green energy development and the application of advanced technologies," said Governor Shakharov during the meeting. Envision Energy is a Chinese company specializing in smart wind turbines, energy storage systems, and digital energy solutions. During the meeting, both parties discussed the current preparatory phase of the project, subsequent implementation steps, and coordination with government departments.

The Aktobe wind power project represents another strategic move by Envision Energy in Kazakhstan. Previously, Envision Energy has won bids for multiple wind power projects in the country, including supplying 124 units of 6.5MW wind turbines for the 1GW Mirny wind power project in the Zhambyl region, along with a 300MW/600MWh battery energy storage system. Kazakhstan plans to increase the share of renewable energy in its energy mix to 15% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The advancement of the Aktobe project will support local green energy development and job creation.
