en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 3, Canada's Nova Scotia province advanced the environmental process for the Ocean Lake Wind Power Project, with a planned capacity of 1,264 megawatts. Located in Guysborough County, near the communities of New Harbour, Goldboro, Larry’s River, Lundy, and Roachvale, the project is jointly developed by EverWind NS Holdings Ltd and Membertou Development Corp, a subsidiary of Membertou First Nation.

The Ocean Lake Wind Power Project plans to install up to 158 wind turbines, which upon completion could meet the equivalent electricity demand of approximately 404,000 households. Construction is expected to begin in 2029, with a construction period of about five years. During the construction phase, it is projected to create 400 to 500 jobs, while the operational phase is expected to provide 40 to 50 long-term positions and generate annual tax revenue for the local municipality.

The Ocean Lake Wind Power Project is part of EverWind's planned Guysborough Wind Power Portfolio, which has a total scale of approximately 2.5 gigawatts and is intended to supply renewable electricity to the Point Tupper green hydrogen and green ammonia facility. The project's subsequent advancement is subject to meeting environmental and public health conditions, with the specific construction pace still dependent on engineering design, financing, equipment procurement, and construction organization arrangements.
