en.Wedoany.com Reported - Alstef Group has recently deployed a new-generation Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) for Armor-Iimak at its industrial site in La Chevrolière, Loire-Atlantique, France, to support internal logistics operations. Armor-Iimak, a subsidiary of the Armor Group, specializes in the design and manufacture of thermal transfer ribbons for printing traceability and identification data. This deployment marks a continuation of a partnership spanning over a decade.

The new AGV, model GT16, is specifically designed for high-level storage in ultra-narrow aisles and was integrated by Alstef Group. This equipment enables storage at heights of up to 8 meters without altering existing operational methods, and is equipped with a contour detection system that uses vertical scanners to verify load stability in real time. The vehicle is powered via a busbar system for continuous charging, ensuring full availability.

Armor-Iimak introduced this AGV to achieve a dual objective: enhancing the reliability of warehousing operations while ensuring the availability of production processes and the warehouse. According to Hortense Janiere, Methods and Continuous Improvement Engineer at Armor-Iimak, Alstef Group successfully introduced new features that significantly improved safety performance, effectively addressing pallet fall issues. She noted that the deployment and operation of the equipment went smoothly, with rapid commissioning thanks to the system's reliability. Currently, Armor-Iimak operates a fleet of 13 AGVs at its Loire-Atlantique site, including ten automated guided vehicles for pallet transport within the workshop and three three-way AGVs for high-level storage operations.
