en.Wedoany.com Reported - The rooftop distributed photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage power station project in the southern area of Hong'an County officially commenced construction on July 3 at the County Vocational Education Group. The project is invested and constructed by Hubei Jinyuan Investment Development Group Co., Ltd. It serves as a key energy-saving and carbon-reduction demonstration project in Hong'an County, aiming to revitalize state-owned existing assets and promote the green and low-carbon transformation of the high-tech zone.
The total investment of the project is approximately 480 million yuan, with a total installed capacity of 125 megawatts. During construction, it will utilize idle rooftop resources of public buildings such as government agencies, schools, and hospitals across the county, as well as enterprise factories and office buildings, without requiring new construction land. The project adopts mature distributed PV technology and operates under the "self-consumption of generated power, surplus electricity fed into the grid" model.
According to estimates, after the project is completed and put into operation, the average annual power generation can reach 137 million kilowatt-hours, meeting the electricity demands for enterprise production and office operations while reducing operational costs. The project can save 17,000 tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 140,000 tons per year, contributing to the regional dual control of energy consumption and the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
The project is independently implemented by a county-owned state enterprise, adopting a "lightweight and intensive" approach to explore the revitalization of existing resources, providing a replicable and scalable demonstration model for promoting rooftop PV retrofits.
In the next step, the investor, Yuantou Company, will drive the project toward early completion, grid connection, and tangible results, while continuing to deepen its presence in the green energy industry, empowering high-quality county economic development through green transformation.
