en.Wedoany.com Reported - China's "Chongqing 15th Five-Year Plan for Important River Sand Mining (2026–2030)" has been approved and implemented by the municipal government. The plan covers 37 major cross-district rivers, including the Jialing River, Wujiang River, and Fujiang River, with a total planned river length of 2,775 kilometers flowing through 20 districts and counties. The plan designates 254 prohibited mining zones, 69 reserved zones, and 128 permissible mining zones. Among these, the total length of rivers in prohibited mining zones reaches 2,425 kilometers, accounting for 87.4% of the total planned river length. Fourteen rivers, including the Yulin River and Dahong River, are entirely designated as prohibited mining zones.

During the planning period, the total controlled mining volume is set at 56.95 million tons, with an annual controlled mining volume of 11.39 million tons. Among these, 83 permissible mining zones are planned for the primary and secondary tributaries of the Yangtze River, with an annual controlled mining volume of 3.6189 million tons; 25 permissible mining zones are planned for the Jialing River and its tributaries, with an annual controlled mining volume of 6.7572 million tons; and 20 permissible mining zones are planned for the Wujiang River and its tributaries, with an annual controlled mining volume of 1.0140 million tons. Compared to the previous planning period (2021–2025), the number of permissible mining zones has increased by 69, and the annual controlled mining volume has increased by 4.79 million tons. The plan also stipulates a complete ban on mining across all river sections from March 1 to June 30 each year.

Sand mining management will fully implement an electronic "Mining and Transport Management Slip" system, utilizing BeiDou positioning, video surveillance, and electronic fences for whole-process supervision. During the planning period, the total controlled mining volume accounts for approximately 63.2% of the available sand and gravel resources in permissible mining zones, reserving ample space for future development.
