en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 6, TotalEnergies ENEOS launched a nearly 28MWp rooftop solar project to supply power to Samsung Electronics' manufacturing base in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The rooftop solar project is built at the Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex, and is invested, constructed, operated, and maintained by TotalEnergies ENEOS. The electricity will be supplied to Samsung Electronics under a long-term power purchase agreement.
The rooftop solar project installs approximately 45,000 solar panels and is expected to provide over 40,000MWh of renewable electricity annually. Under a 20-year power purchase agreement, the project will cover about 26% of the electricity demand of Samsung Electronics' manufacturing base in Ho Chi Minh City. The Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex is one of Samsung Electronics' largest manufacturing bases globally, and after the rooftop solar project is connected, it will provide a localized clean electricity source for the factory.
TotalEnergies ENEOS focuses on developing on-site distributed solar projects for enterprises in Asia, with a target of deploying 2GW of distributed solar capacity in the region over the next five years. Vietnam's manufacturing plants feature large electricity consumption, concentrated rooftop resources, and stable long-term corporate electricity demand, making rooftop solar projects directly matchable with factory electricity use. After the rooftop solar project begins supplying power, the subsequent focus will be on system operational efficiency, long-term maintenance, PPA execution, and matching with factory electricity consumption.
