en.Wedoany.com Reported - A joint venture between Vistry's Countryside and L&Q has secured planning permission from Chelmsford City Council to build 3,500 new homes in Essex.

The development is part of the next phase of the Chelmsford Garden Community scheme, a masterplan expected to ultimately deliver 10,000 homes. The joint venture will provide between 19% and 35% affordable housing across three villages, along with a Gypsy and Traveller site accommodating 10 caravans. The project also includes schools, healthcare facilities, and over 130 hectares of public space, including the new Dukes Wood Nature Park. Previously, the joint venture completed 270 homes in Beaulieu.

The masterplan, supported by Homes England, took 20 years to complete and was developed by Countryside, L&Q, Ptarmigan Land, and Halley Developments in collaboration with the city council and Essex County Council. JTP, Bradley Murphy Design, DWD, TPA, Arcadis, and Aecom also contributed to the project team.
