en.Wedoany.com Reported - Jamco Corp. (headquartered in Tokyo), a Japanese supplier of aircraft interiors and maintenance services, will join the "Circular Economy Industry Construction Project for Next-Generation Aircraft" initiated by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). This project aims to recycle and utilize carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) from retired aircraft, with Tokai National Higher Education and Research System Nagoya University serving as the representative institution. Participants also include the Japan Fine Ceramics Center (JFCC), Subaru Corp., and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

Jamco supplies products to aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus. In this project, Jamco's work will focus on the field of aircraft interior components. Since interior components have strict requirements for flame retardant certification but lower demands for structural fatigue, they serve as a practical entry point for using recycled materials. Jamco will develop substrate molding processes to convert recycled CFRP into usable forms, establish certification requirements for recycled composites in cabin applications, and conduct relevant tests using actual aircraft.
