en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazil's federal government-backed Move Brasil program has entered a new phase, providing R$21.2 billion in resources through the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) fleet renewal line to finance the purchase of trucks, buses, minibuses, and road equipment. The initiative aims to encourage transport companies to replace aging vehicles with new models equipped with advanced technology, thereby improving operational performance, reducing fuel consumption, and minimizing environmental impact.

According to the credit line criteria, both new and used assets, whether domestic or imported, are eligible for financing, with a maximum financing amount of R$50 million per beneficiary, covering individual transporters, cooperatives, individual entrepreneurs, and industry companies. The Union of Cargo Transport Companies of Campinas and Region (SINDICAMP) believes that this phase is being implemented at a strategic time for the road freight transport sector, as companies need to balance operational efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness. The entity recently held an "Innovation, Strategy, and Corporate Management Plan" focused on this topic to address related questions and help entrepreneurs understand the program's opportunities.
SINDICAMP President Rafaela Cozar stated that the program could represent a significant advancement for companies looking to renew their fleets and initiate or strengthen decarbonization plans. She noted that the transport sector faces major challenges in fleet modernization, operational costs, and environmental requirements, and that Move Brasil can become a key tool to support companies in acquiring more efficient and sustainable vehicles. Fleet renewal is seen as one of the main strategies to reduce emissions in road freight transport, as modern vehicles integrate more advanced technology, enabling better energy performance, lower maintenance needs, and higher operational safety.
Rafaela Cozar emphasized that decarbonization should be viewed by companies as an internal strategic agenda, not merely an environmental requirement. She believes that fleet renewal allows companies to move toward cleaner operations, but this must be pursued based on information, financial analysis, and a long-term perspective. She pointed out that industry associations play a crucial role in guiding corporate transformation, and entrepreneurs should understand such programs in light of their actual operational conditions, fleet profiles, and investment capacity. SINDICAMP is committed to providing high-quality information to its members and supporting corporate decision-making. This version of the "Innovation Plan" is designed to bring transporters closer to relevant discussions, demonstrating that sustainability and innovation must go hand in hand in the industry's future. With the launch of the new phase of Move Brasil, the road freight transport sector gains more pathways to advance asset modernization, reduce emissions, and improve operational efficiency.
