en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Roissy-Picardie link project, launched in 2024, has been ranked second in BTP Rail's investment scale ranking earlier this year, with an investment of €650 million. Topping the list is the railway renovation project south of Bordeaux (LNSO project), with an investment of €991 million.

This link will connect the Paris-Amiens line and the Lille-Roissy line, which are close in distance but not yet connected. The project spans 6.5 kilometers, featuring a new electrified line designed for a speed of 160 km/h. The scope of work includes extensive infrastructure, such as at least six railway bridges and signal system modifications to integrate the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS).

The installation of catenary masts has been completed. In early July, the new Roissy-Picardie line was connected to the existing Paris-Creil-Amiens line, with traffic suspended for three days to lay switches. Ballast laying has begun, and full track laying is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The link is scheduled to enter service in December 2028.

Similar construction work will take place in late summer to enable future operations from Roissy CDG 2 to Creil-Amiens. Once both operations are completed, the new line will be physically connected to the existing line, requiring only the deployment of the railway signaling system thereafter.

Work is also progressing in other areas. At the Survilliers-Fosses station, construction of an intercity pedestrian bridge connecting the station area to the Lidl commercial zone will continue until the end of 2026, alongside the renovation of dedicated platforms for the Roissy-Picardie line. At the Roissy CDG 2 TGV station, excavation work for new platform entrances is underway, and the installation of railway equipment on the new line is also progressing.
