Saudi Aviation Group to Receive Four Boeing 777 Freighters in Q4

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 6, Saudi Aviation Group signed an agreement with Boeing in Jeddah to order four 777 freighters, with the first delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. Saudi Aviation Group CEO Ibrahim Al-Omar stated: "By expanding dedicated freighter capacity, Saudi Cargo can meet growing global demand, enhance connectivity to key international markets, and contribute to Saudi Arabia's vision of becoming a leading global logistics hub."

The ordered 777 freighters will be used to expand Saudi Cargo's route network across four continents, strengthening cargo connections between Saudi Arabia and major global commercial and industrial centers. The agreement was signed by Saudi Aviation Fleet Management Vice President Saleh Eid, Saudi Cargo CEO Loay Mashabi, and Boeing Saudi President Asaad AlJomoai.

Omar Arekat, Boeing Commercial Airplanes Vice President of Middle East Sales and Marketing, stated that the agreement strengthens the long-term partnership between the two companies, which spans over 75 years, and Boeing looks forward to further supporting Saudi Cargo's growth plans.

Saudi Cargo currently operates 10 freighters, including the 777F, 747-400F, and Airbus A330-200 converted freighters.This order is part of Saudi Aviation Group's long-term growth strategy, aimed at helping Saudi Arabia achieve its strategic positioning as a "global logistics hub connecting East and West." Between 2024 and 2025, Saudi Cargo transported over 1.15 million tons of cargo, maintaining an on-time performance rate of over 90%.
