Chen Jie, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Shanghai, introduced the preparations for the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, as well as the development of the AI industry. The conference will be held from July 17 to 20 across three locations and four venues in Shanghai: Expo, Zhangjiang, and West Bund. Centered on the theme "Intelligent Partners, Co-creating the Future," it will feature six major sections: forums and meetings, exhibitions and displays, awards and competitions, application experiences, innovation incubation, and talent recruitment.
This year's conference is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.
