en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 23rd International Forgemasters Meeting (IFM 2027) will be held in Chengdu, China, from September 19 to 24, 2027. This conference is a highly influential and authoritative event in the global open die forging and heavy forging industry, held every three years and hosted by leading enterprises or industry organizations from various countries and regions on a rotating basis, with an executive committee. The conference covers technical fields such as metallurgy, forging, heat treatment, and machining, and facilitates international market information exchange. Each edition publishes hundreds of papers and attracts nearly a thousand participants.
Since 2006, the number of Chinese participants has increased year by year, with the number of papers presented at the conference growing from a few initially to dozens today, reflecting international recognition of the achievements of China's forging industry. The China Forging Industry Association originally planned to host this edition in 2020, but it was postponed due to the pandemic. The call for papers has now been relaunched. The conference invites papers from enterprises and individuals related to China's open die forging (heavy forging) industry. Submissions can be made by individuals or organizations. Once a paper is accepted, the author will be invited to present their technical achievements at this international industry event.
The call for abstracts is open from the date of this announcement until October 12, 2026 (subject to the date of email receipt). Topics include the open die forging and heavy forging industry, refining of forging steel, casting and remelting technologies, high-temperature alloys, titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, and new advanced forging materials, forging and heat treatment equipment and facilities, development of industrial forgings (energy, metallurgy, petrochemicals, aerospace and defense, heavy machinery, shipbuilding, tools and dies, transportation, marine engineering, energy storage, etc.), nuclear power applications, simulation and modeling, non-destructive testing and online measurement, data collection and analysis in the forging industry and artificial intelligence applications, energy conservation, emission reduction, and green production, as well as human resources and education and training in the forging industry.
Authors must submit an abstract in Chinese or English (within 500 words) before the deadline. Submissions can be made online via the conference website ifm2027.ccmi.org.cn or by email to ifm2027@chinaforge.org.cn, with the subject line "IFM2027 Abstract - [Your Name]" or "IFM2027 Paper - [Your Name]". The abstract must include the full names of all authors, their affiliations and positions/titles, phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses. The organizing committee will notify authors of abstract acceptance results by the end of December 2026. Authors of accepted abstracts must submit the full paper (4 to 8 pages, in Word format) by email or USB drive by June 17, 2027. PPT submissions are not accepted as full papers. Authors of accepted abstracts will be eligible to present at the conference and must submit their presentation PPT by August 2, 2027. The conference language is English. Authors must provide their papers and abstracts in English; for non-Chinese authors, the organizing committee will translate the abstracts into Chinese based on the English version. Chinese authors must submit both Chinese and English versions of their papers and abstracts. Simultaneous interpretation in Chinese and English will be provided at the conference.
A small exhibition will be held concurrently with the conference, featuring forged products, equipment, materials, auxiliary equipment, and related services from the open die forging industry. Standard booths are 2 meters by 2 meters, while non-standard booths can rent bare space, with a maximum area of 20 square meters per company.
