en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mercado Libre, the Argentine e-commerce and fintech company, has launched CLIC, a free AI platform offering online sales training for entrepreneurs, producers, cooperatives, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The platform is open, free, and available 24/7, initially targeting the Argentine and Mexican markets, with plans to expand to more countries.
CLIC is not merely a simple course platform; it integrates artificial intelligence tools into the digital training process for SMEs. After entering the platform, businesses and entrepreneurs can first complete a business diagnosis and then receive a personalized roadmap to improve online sales strategies, product listings, business operations, and e-commerce onboarding processes. For small businesses with no e-commerce experience, such tools can break down "where to start selling, how to list products, and how to adjust sales strategies" into clearer operational steps.
The first phase includes six asynchronous practical modules, totaling approximately 5 hours, covering e-commerce fundamentals, product listings, business strategy optimization, and an introduction to operating on the Mercado Libre platform. Participants do not need prior professional e-commerce knowledge; upon completing the modules and having an active seller account, they can apply for a CLIC certificate. The platform also integrates AI capabilities developed by Mercado Libre to assist with self-diagnosis, learning progress, and operational recommendations.
CLIC also features a second-phase acceleration program. Among participants who complete the first phase, 30 to 40 organizations will be selected for a six-week acceleration period, receiving group coaching from the Mercado Libre team, advanced content, public masterclasses, and opportunities for exchange within the CLIC community. This arrangement ensures that training goes beyond simply "watching courses" and progresses to stages of going live, operations, review, and peer exchange among similar businesses.
Mercado Libre has a large number of SME sellers in the Latin American market. Currently, over 300,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs sell products through Mercado Libre, with nearly 90% of sellers selling outside their cities and 49% considering Mercado Libre as their primary source of income. With the launch of CLIC, Mercado Libre aims to lower the barrier for small businesses to enter e-commerce through free training, AI assistance, and platform-based tools, enabling more local producers and entrepreneurs to start selling online.
This platform also reflects the significant digital potential still present in the Latin American e-commerce market. Argentina's e-commerce penetration rate is approximately 16.7%, significantly lower than that of the United States and some mature markets in Asia. SMEs lacking online operational experience often get stuck in areas such as product display, pricing, logistics, customer service, and understanding platform rules. CLIC brings together training, diagnosis, roadmaps, and AI tools on a single platform, aiming to help more small businesses complete their e-commerce onboarding using just a mobile phone and basic operational skills.
With the launch of CLIC in Argentina and Mexico, Mercado Libre's SME service system has expanded from a transaction platform to include training and digital guidance. If the platform subsequently enters Brazil and other Latin American markets, it will continue to broaden e-commerce training coverage for entrepreneurs, cooperatives, producers, and MSMEs.
