en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vero Fiber Networks has announced the completion of its acquisition of Velocity Fiber, a fiber optic provider serving the K-12 education E-Rate market across four states.
This transaction expands Vero's footprint in the K-12 education sector. Initially focused on the K-12 market, Vero now serves wholesale, technology, enterprise, and retail internet customers in 27 states and over 370 markets.
Vero stated that the compatible infrastructure models of the two companies allow it to integrate Velocity Fiber's private fiber network into its broader operations without disrupting service to existing customers. Mary White, Senior Vice President and Head of E-Rate Vertical at Vero, said in a press release that the company was founded on the belief that K-12 schools should have high-speed, private fiber infrastructure. She added that Vero has long recognized Velocity Fiber's dedicated bandwidth products and support for school districts and looks forward to extending the same level of service to Velocity Fiber's customers. Vero noted that the transition of network management has begun, requiring no action from customers, and their services will remain uninterrupted.
The acquisition of Velocity Fiber is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Vero, which has been actively consolidating smaller providers. In November, Vero announced plans to merge with Telephone Electronics Corporation, which provides fiber internet services in Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. Vero has also expanded into Montana and Colorado through acquisitions and has deployed fiber-to-the-home services in California.
