en.Wedoany.com Reported - XPeng held the Chinese debut event for the XPeng MONA L03 in Beijing on July 2, 2026, officially unveiling the first SUV model of the MONA series, the MONA L03, and opening pre-sales. This model is the first to feature a driver incapacitation assistance system, which, under highway assisted driving conditions, can automatically control the vehicle to pull over and call for emergency assistance when it detects that the driver has lost the ability to drive. The XPeng MONA L03 will hold its global launch event in Munich, Germany, on July 16, 2026, and will go on sale in 64 countries worldwide in 2026.
XPeng is a leading Chinese smart electric vehicle company, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, specializing in the design, development, manufacturing, and sales of smart electric vehicles. The MONA L03 is positioned as "the first smart and stylish SUV for young people," offering both pure electric and super extended-range powertrain versions. The official pre-sale price ranges from RMB 143,800 to RMB 165,800, with the pure electric 525Max version at RMB 143,800, the pure electric 625Max version at RMB 153,800, and the super extended-range 1330Max version at RMB 149,800.
The driver incapacitation assistance system is one of the core safety features of the XPeng MONA L03. Under highway NGP assisted driving conditions, the system uses in-cabin visual sensors and capacitive sensors to assess the driver's status. When it detects that the driver has been unable to take over the vehicle for an extended period, the system automatically triggers a warning and issues multiple reminders. If the driver still does not respond, the vehicle will actively decelerate, plan a route, and pull over safely. It will then automatically unlock the doors and simultaneously activate the E-Call emergency function, dialing emergency services and sending the vehicle's location information. The entire process, from warning and takeover to pulling over and calling for help, is fully autonomous without human intervention. XPeng Vice President @Thomas Electric Train revealed that this feature will be expanded to ordinary road scenarios through future OTA updates, allowing the vehicle to pull over and alert authorities if the driver encounters an accident on regular roads, forming a fully autonomous rescue chain.

In terms of intelligent driving hardware, the MONA L03 offers two configurations: the Max version and the Ultra SE version. The Max version is equipped with a single Turing chip, with an effective computing power of 750 TOPS. The Ultra SE version features dual Turing AI chips, with an effective computing power of up to 1500 TOPS, bringing 1500 TOPS of in-vehicle computing power to the RMB 150,000-level SUV market for the first time. The entire lineup comes standard with the second-generation VLA advanced intelligent assisted driving system. In terms of safety features, the MONA L03 is equipped with 17 standard active safety features and 7 airbags, meeting global five-star safety standards for China, Europe, and Australia. Additionally, the vehicle features the industry's only all-scenario tire blowout stability system, covering complex scenarios such as single-tire blowouts, dual-tire blowouts, and blowouts on curves.
The debut of the driver incapacitation assistance system in the XPeng MONA L03 brings a safety feature previously only seen in high-end models down to the RMB 150,000-level SUV market. The introduction of this function provides additional safety assurance for highway long-distance driving scenarios, helping to reduce the risk of traffic accidents caused by sudden driver health issues.
