US-based Neuron Industries Raises $10 Million to Develop AI Industrial Controller
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 29, US industrial automation technology company Neuron Industries completed a $10 million seed funding round, co-led by FCVC and Obvious Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, Thin Line Capital, Zee Prime Capital, and Founder Factor. The funding will be used to develop the Cortex AI industrial controller, expand its industrial control product line and engineering team, and the company plans to add US-based production capacity after the product launch in 2027.

Neuron Industries is developing the Cortex AI Industrial Controller (Cortex AIC) and the Synapse software development environment. The system integrates real-time device control, software development, operator interfaces, and production data acquisition into a single platform, enabling engineers to describe equipment operating requirements in natural language, automatically generate readable and modifiable control code, and verify operating logic through simulation before actual deployment.
The company plans to launch the Cortex controller in the first quarter of 2027, followed by expansion into autonomous input/output (I/O) modules and human-machine interface (HMI) display devices. The new funding will also support R&D team expansion and controller production capacity building.
Neuron Industries has completed an industrial control system retrofit at US building materials company CureWood Engineered Building Products. The project replaced a 1991 Siemens S5 controller used on a wood finger-joint production line with the new system, involving 189 hardwired input/output points. The company used AI tools to convert the original PLC program into new control logic; engineers and AI collaborated on programming in approximately 3 hours, with production line downtime for the retrofit of approximately 8 hours, and the system ran successfully after first power-up.
The company's industrial automation systems have been deployed at more than ten manufacturing startups, including Rise Reforming, Radify Metals, Lazarus Energy, and Nox Metals. Energy equipment R&D company Lazarus Energy used Neuron's control development tools for turbine prototype testing; its technical lead said the tools enabled prototypes to reach test-ready status approximately 10 times faster than with other systems previously used.
Neuron Industries was founded in May 2026 by Dennis Ren and Kenneth Rhee, and publicly launched its industrial control technology platform in August of the same year. The company is currently advancing Cortex controller product development and preparation for commercial delivery, with subsequent production plans to be implemented according to the 2027 product launch schedule.
