en.Wedoany.com Reported - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 1 GW Bikaner solar project in Rajasthan. The project is being developed by Indian renewable energy developer SJVN through its subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited, with an estimated investment of INR 54.92 billion (approximately USD 604.12 million). This project is currently the largest single EPC solar project in India under the Domestic Content Requirement category at a single location.

The facility covers nearly 5,000 acres and utilizes approximately 2.422 million domestically manufactured DCR solar modules and about 1.75 billion domestically produced solar cells. The project is expected to generate approximately 2,454.84 GWh of electricity in its first year, with a cumulative generation of around 56,482.14 GWh over its 25-year operational period. The generated power will be allocated to Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand, with allocations of 500 MW, 300 MW, and 200 MW, respectively. During construction and commissioning, the project also created over 2,000 jobs.
