Tata Power Renewable Commissions 190.5 MW FDRE Project in Rajasthan

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 24, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) commissioned a 190.5 MW solar FDRE (Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy) project at Kalasar, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project is part of the 460 MW FDRE contract capacity that Tata Power secured from SJVN, under SJVN's FDRE Tranche-1.

The project includes a 115 MWh advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and deploys harmonic filters and static VAR generator systems to enhance grid reliability and the dispatchability of renewable energy. Upon completion, the power will be supplied to three distribution companies: Haryana Power Purchase Centre, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company, and Noida Power Company.

TPREL executed the project amid compressed timelines and global supply chain disruptions (impacting the supply of critical equipment such as transmission line materials and module mounting structures). The substation construction was completed in just three months, and the harmonic filter construction took one month.

With the commissioning of this project, TPREL's renewable energy utility-scale installed capacity has reached 12.4 GW, of which approximately 6.9 GW is operational (including 5.6 GW solar and 1.3 GW wind), while approximately 5.5 GW is at various stages of construction, expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 24 months.
