en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) has issued a tender for an energy storage system, planning to develop an independent battery energy storage system (BESS) with a total capacity of 625 MW/1250 MWh under a build-own-operate model. The project consists of two 250 MW/500 MWh units and one 125 MW/250 MWh unit, and is eligible for viability gap funding of INR 1.8 million per MWh.
According to the tender guidelines, the developer is responsible for constructing the energy storage system and connecting it to the designated substation specified by the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited. The energy storage system will be utilized by MPPMCL as needed, supporting the state's distribution companies during peak and off-peak hours, with the system operating two charge and discharge cycles.
As part of the bidding process, bidders are required to submit a bid processing fee of INR 1.5 million, a bid security of INR 220,000 per MW, and a performance bank guarantee of INR 1.1 million per MW. The bid submission deadline is July 30, 2026.
Earlier in July 2026, MPPMCL awarded 293 MW of projects in its 800 MW wind power tender, with the remaining capacity yet to be allocated. Among these, Ayana Renewable Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, secured a 193 MW wind power project at a tariff of INR 4.17 per kWh; Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited secured a 100 MW wind power project at a tariff of INR 4.12 per kWh.
