en.Wedoany.com Reported - LG Electronics announced on the 8th that it has supplied an industrial heat pump capable of raising the outlet water temperature to 108°C to A-Jin P&P (아진P&P), a paper manufacturer in Daegu, South Korea, and the equipment is now in operation. This supply is part of the national "2050 Carbon Neutrality" project led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, jointly promoted by 15 industry, academia, and research institutions including LG Electronics since 2023.

This industrial heat pump raises the outlet water temperature from the existing 90°C to 108°C (up to 118°C) and achieves a large capacity of up to 1040 RT (refrigeration tons). High-temperature water exceeding 100°C can be applied to paper drying processes in paper mills, sterilization processes in food factories, and various industrial sites such as chemicals and oil refining.
LG Electronics' industrial heat pump adopts its self-developed "oil-free magnetic bearing" technology. This technology eliminates the need for supplying lubricating oil while reducing maintenance and electricity costs. The refrigerant used in the equipment is R-1233zd, which has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of only 1.
In terms of business expansion, LG Electronics has successively supplied industrial water-source heat pumps to the Korea World Trade Center and, in 2025, supplied industrial heat pumps for district heating to the Danish energy company Orsted. Currently, the company is engaged in order-taking activities at industrial sites in North America and Europe, including the United States, Canada, Norway, and Finland. Additionally, LG Electronics has been conducting a home heat pump system boiler business in the domestic South Korean market since 2011. Recently, it received the highest score in the evaluation for the "2026 Jeju Residential Heat Pump Dissemination Project" promoted by the Climate, Energy and Environment Department and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and was selected as the first priority supplier.
