en.Wedoany.com Reported - Argentina's automotive manufacturing sector saw a significant decline in production in the first half of this year. According to data compiled by the country's Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Adefa), a total of 204,658 vehicles and light commercial vehicles were produced between January and June, down 18.3% from 250,478 units in the same period last year.
In June alone, production stood at 37,029 units, a decrease of 1.9% compared to May (37,762 units) and a 13.6% drop year-on-year from 42,848 units in the same month last year.
Export performance was also weak. In the first half, total vehicle exports reached 126,893 units, down 2.1% from 129,654 units in the first six months of 2025. Monthly data showed a widening decline, falling from 25,237 units in May to 22,373 units in June, a month-on-month decrease of 11.5% and a year-on-year drop of 1.7% from 22,760 units in the same period last year.

Dealer invoiced sales rebounded in June, with 44,096 units delivered, up 22.6% from May (35,979 units). However, compared to 59,807 units in June last year, transaction volumes still fell sharply by 26%. Cumulatively, the dealer network received 228,129 vehicles, down 23.7% from 299,001 units in the same period last year.
