en.Wedoany.com Reported - Beyond Gravity has signed one of the largest contracts in its history, reaching an agreement with ArianeGroup to supply 27 payload fairings for Ariane 6 flights 16 to 42. The deal, announced jointly by the two companies on July 8, solidifies Beyond Gravity's position as a key player in the European launch supply chain. Following the successful completion of initial flights, ArianeGroup is moving to increase the production rate of Ariane 6.

This new contract for the operational phase, starting at the end of 2026, marks the largest contract in the history of Beyond Gravity's Swiss launch vehicle business. The contract includes the production of 20 long fairings and 7 short fairings, supporting the industrialization acceleration of the Ariane 6 program and helping to achieve the planned launch cadence of 9 to 10 missions per year. Since the first flight of Ariane 1 in 1979, Beyond Gravity has provided payload fairings for every Ariane mission. In this program, depending on the mission, Ariane 6 can be equipped with either a short (14 meters) or long (20 meters) payload fairing, allowing this European heavy-lift launch vehicle to accommodate a variety of payloads without maintaining separate systems for each mission type, with a common technical platform covering the entire range.

Beyond Gravity CEO Barbara Frei-Spreiter stated in a release that the company is pleased to actively help shape the accelerated development of the Ariane 6 launch vehicle program by providing key technologies, and to continue its long-term partnership with ArianeGroup and the European Space Agency (ESA). With the ability to mass-produce highly complex launch vehicle structures to the highest quality standards, it makes a key contribution to the competitiveness of the European space industry.
