During the peak summer season from December 2026 to March 2027, the new route will operate five times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Maceió thus becomes the third city served by JetSMART in northeastern Brazil, reflecting the company's strategic expansion in the region.

Currently, JetSMART connects multiple Brazilian cities to destinations such as Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Córdoba, Santiago, Montevideo, and Asunción, offering a network of 97 connecting points within the countries it operates. Based on an ultra-low-cost model, the company expands access to international air transport through competitive fares and efficient operations.

The launch of this route comes amid growing air travel demand between Brazil and Argentina. According to data from the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), air traffic between the two countries increased by nearly 30% in 2025, reflecting the strengthening of tourism and business travel between these two major markets.

This initiative also aligns with the expansion strategy of Aena Brasil, the concessionaire of Maceió Airport. Aena Brasil is committed to enhancing the terminal's international connectivity, consolidating its role as a gateway to northeastern Brazil. The new route is expected to boost tourism, foster cultural exchange, and expand business opportunities between the two countries.

The new route will also strengthen the flow of Argentine tourists to Maceió—one of the most popular destinations on the Brazilian coast, renowned for its beaches and natural landscapes. At the same time, Brazilian travelers will gain a faster and more affordable option to reach the Argentine capital, known for its rich culture, cuisine, and architecture.
