en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 8, Indian steelmaker Tata Steel Group released its production and delivery data for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (April 1 to June 30, 2026). Its Indian operations recorded crude steel output of 5.82 million tons, down approximately 6% quarter-on-quarter but up 11% year-on-year, primarily driven by increased production at the Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar plants. During the same period, deliveries from Indian operations totaled 5.17 million tons, down about 16% quarter-on-quarter but up approximately 9% year-on-year, with domestic deliveries rising 11% year-on-year.

By segment, Indian operations saw automotive and specialty product deliveries of approximately 900,000 tons, branded products and retail deliveries of about 1.7 million tons, and industrial products and project deliveries of around 1.6 million tons. The ongoing capacity ramp-up at the Kalinganagar plant drove a 20% year-on-year increase in high-end product deliveries.

In overseas operations, the Netherlands business recorded liquid steel output of 1.55 million tons, down about 5% quarter-on-quarter and 9% year-on-year; deliveries totaled 1.4 million tons, down approximately 18% quarter-on-quarter and 7% year-on-year, mainly due to a plant shutdown in April, which has since received approval for trial operations. The UK business delivered 480,000 tons, down about 8% quarter-on-quarter and 20% year-on-year, with its Port Talbot site advancing an electric arc furnace project with an annual capacity of approximately 3 million tons. The Thailand business reported marketable steel output and deliveries of 330,000 tons each.

Tata Steel Group has a global crude steel production capacity of approximately 36 million tons per year, with steel production and processing facilities in India, the Netherlands, the UK, Thailand, and other locations.
