en.Wedoany.com Reported - Amazon Australia has agreed to purchase 17.2 hectares of land in Bradfield, Western Sydney, to expand its nationwide delivery and logistics network.

This acquisition builds on the company's nearly AUD 2 billion (approximately GBP 1 billion) investment in Western Sydney over the past eight years. Since opening its first local fulfillment center in 2018, this transaction represents the latest in a series of investments in the region.

Wayne Angus, Director of Operations at Amazon Australia, stated that this move reflects the company's ongoing commitment to Western Sydney and its community, which remains a strategic focus for its operations.

Amazon established its first Sydney fulfillment center in Moorebank in 2018, followed by a robotics fulfillment center in Kemps Creek and a logistics station in Regents Park in 2022, a fulfillment center in Horsley Park in 2025, with plans to launch a second fulfillment center there later this year.

The retailer has also submitted a major development application to the state government to add another robotics fulfillment center in Kemps Creek.

Amazon noted that its expansion in Western Sydney has created over 4,000 jobs in delivery, logistics, technology, and management.

Earlier this year, the company also disclosed plans to build a AUD 750 million robotics fulfillment center in Logan, Queensland.
