en.Wedoany.com Reported - TotalEnergies has completed the sale of all its distributed solar assets in Europe, with a total installed capacity of approximately 170 megawatts, a move aimed at concentrating resources on larger-scale solar and wind projects that offer more significant cost savings.

According to a company statement, the transaction involves assets located in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Luxembourg, with ownership transferred to Amarenco and AMPYR Energy. With the completion of the deal, TotalEnergies has ceased its distributed generation operations in these markets.
TotalEnergies explained that distributed generation projects, typically with a capacity of less than 3 megawatts and mainly consisting of solar systems installed on building rooftops, have a business model that is less aligned with the company's focus compared to large-scale power plants, which can enhance operational efficiency through economies of scale. Amarenco and AMPYR Energy will be responsible for operating these assets, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to customers.
This divestment will not affect TotalEnergies' renewable energy expansion plans. The company stated that it has added approximately 8 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity over the past 12 months, bringing total installed capacity to 35 gigawatts as of the end of March 2026. The company plans to maintain a similar annual growth rate, aiming to exceed 75 gigawatts of total renewable energy capacity by 2030.
