Since its inauguration on December 3, 2021, railway authorities in China and Laos have continuously strengthened freight transport organization, enhancing transport capacity and efficiency. By the end of 2025, cumulative freight transport had reached nearly 17 million tons.

Since the beginning of this year, cross-border freight transport on the China-Laos Railway has maintained high-level operations, with an average daily transport of 17,000 tons of cross-border goods, totaling 3.16 million tons, achieving stable year-on-year growth. The "Golden Corridor" effect continues to unfold.
Currently, goods transported via the China-Laos Railway cover 19 countries and regions, including Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangladesh. The variety of transported goods has expanded from over 10 types at the initial stage of operation to more than 3,800 types. International intermodal transport brands such as the "Lancang-Mekong Express," "China-Laos Railway + China-Europe Railway Express," and "China-Laos Railway + New Western Land-Sea Corridor" are becoming increasingly mature.
